The Landscapes of Joshua Meador 1911-1965 HELD OVER through Sunday, November 11 |
||||
Treat yourself to a rare opportunity to view works of this exciting California landscape artist. He was a graduate of the Chicago Art Institute and worked as an art director and director of animated special effects for Walt Disney Studios from the early 1930's until his untimely death in 1965. Josh truly enjoyed his successful career at Disney, compiling an impressive list of well known and beloved credits, but he always thought his Disney Studios as his "day job." After a typical week at the studio, Josh, his wife Libby, and son Philip would pack themselves into their station wagon and head off pulling their "tear drop" trailer to scenic spots around the state. As Philip and Libby explored, Josh would set up his easel, compose and create. The results are a stunning array of palette knife compositions from all corners of California. Come and enjoy these samples of his work and spread the word of this gifted painter. |
