Charlotte Augsuta Morton was a member of the Carmel Art Association and trained at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Student's League and Pratt Institute in New York. She came to California, teaching breifly at San Jose State College before settling on the Monterey Peninsula in 1947. She is known for local Carmel scenes and watercolors of wild flowers, but did venture out to the California deserts from time to time. She was born in Tescott, KS in 1885 and died in Carmel in 1974.
